Member Benefits for Supporting Members
This page describes the major benefits you will receive as a Supporting Member of the Alliance. Click Here to join.
Supporting Members get a free listing in the Alliance's online directory, which is a comprehensive and easy-to-navigate compilation of information about cities, hotels, and other entities that participate in the military reunions market. No other information source, online or in print, is more complete, or is viewed by more military reunion decision makers. No other source provides as much information about each listed entry.
The basic directory listing can be upgraded at no charge if you submit some brief advertising copy, or if your CVB is also a member. A typical directory entry appears below. The Hilton has a basic listing, while the other two have submitted their ads. There are active links on the names of the state and city, the name of each member, and the name of each contact. The red and green dots provide additional information:

CVBs can use the Alliance to make low-cost mailings to military reunion decision makers. Our mailings have a strong record of success in promoting FAM tours and promoting destinations for future reunions.
As of mid-2012, about 575 military reunion groups are members of the Alliance. We offer a simple and effective way to reach them all by mail.
After discussing the mailing with us, you can send us 500-600 direct mail pieces (postcards are best), and we will mail them to our members at cost plus a small handling fee. We use a fully-qualified mailing house that can adress and mail postcards for about $0.50 each, including postage. Larger mail pieces can be handled at slightly higher prices. We prefer the mailing piece to mention your membership in the Alliance, and we think it improves your results, but it's not an absolute necessity.
If interested, send email or call Skip Sander at 412-367-1376.
Refer Reunion Planners. You can gain referrals by putting us in touch with planners who have a good impression of your city. After getting your referrals, we gently invite them to join the Alliance if they are not already a member (almost everyone says "yes"). Their membership is free, and confers several important benefits on their reunion group. No one will be solicited without your specific permission.
Referrals can come back to you from the positive reports that planners make about your city. We constantly seek referrals from the planners in our membership. Our database of positive evaluations is available on a confidential basis to all our military reunion members.
Refer Hotels, Attractions, Tour Companies, etc. You can help yourself and your city by referring members to the Alliance. Experience has shown that the cities drawing the most military reunions have their CVB and from one to three hotels in their Alliance directory listing. Som also have Attractions, Tour Companies, etc. If you don't yet have that situation, just refer one or more hotels or attractions to us so we can recruit them as members. If you refer them and we're aware of it, we will waive their membership setup fee. Your city will benefit by having a larger ad in our directory.
To inquire about either referral program, send email or call Skip Sander at 412-367-1376.
FAM Tours and Site Visits
As a Supporting Member, you have access to Alliance support in promoting and enriching your FAM tours, site visits and other events. We can send invitations to our members, post pages on our web site, and conduct optional seminars in conjunction with your event. We can screen potential attendees and provide solid advice on maximizing the overall impact of your event.
When you join or renew your membership, we post your name on our Twitter feed. Plans are in the works to expand our social networking coverage as time allows.
You have advertising opportunities on our web site and in our print and electronic publications (very limited right now, but will grow greatly in the future).
In dealing with the Alliance, you are working with veterans who have extensive experience in organizing and operating reunion groups, planning and holding reunions, and everything else that pertains to the military reunions market.
As a supporting member, you have access to our low-cost online or in-person educational seminars about the military reunions market—good training for all your staff who deal with this market.
